On Saturday April 26th the Seattle Majestics took on the Redding Rage at Memorial Stadium in Seattle. The Majestics defense took the field first and promptly shut down the
Rage's first drive and continued to shut down the Rage until the fourth quarter.
The Majestics offense came alive this game with several great passes from QB's Michel Volk and Jennifer Norton. QB Volk had a 20 yard touchdown pass to WR Adrienne Wilson and another 25 yard touchdown pass to WR Crystal Brown. In the first quarter TE Gretchen Pietras had an unbelievable catch thrown by QB Volk. QB Volk was hit while throwing the pass, the ball bounced off the
defenders foot, and somehow TE Pietras came down with the ball.
With the Majestics up 18-0 just two minutes into the second quarter QB Volk left the game and QB Jennifer "Yakima" Norton took over.
QB Norton immediately threw a 50 yard touchdown pass to WR Camille Head and followed up with another 50 yard touchdown pass to WR Tiffany Carlson.
Not to be outdone by the passing game RB's Allison Poulin and Renee Rodak both added running touchdowns of their own.
Although the majority of the Majestics starting defense did not play in the second half of the game the defense held strong until the fourth quarter. The defense was led by LB Kasey Rivas, DE Heather Gallemore, LB Gail Pitman, and the entire defensive line. The Majestics bench played awesome and stepped up when needed.
The Majestics also benefited from stellar special teams play by kick returner Adrienne Wilson and kicker Crystal Brown.
Overall the Majestics played great and proved that they have a very deep depth chart.
The Majestics will travel to Corvallis, Oregon on May 10th to take on the Corvallis Pride.
